STUDY ABROAD THROUGH YOUR OWN UNIVERSITY'S GERMAN PARTNER SCHOOL AND HAVE IFX MANAGE YOUR PLACEMENT ONTO A GERMAN CLUB!

For those interested in developing their game overseas by competing for German clubs while studying abroad at one of their own University's partner schools in Germany, International Fútbol X-Change (IFX) has developed a program to support the process of enabling soccer players to settle in the new country, get integrated and adapted into the German society and culture before University begins, and to be placed on a highly competitive German club team fit to their level to compete in an authentic German training environment for the duration of their University study abroad program.

Compete for a German club while studying abroad in Germany

Whether you choose to study in a University in Baden-Württemberg or Franconia, IFX will support your football! Just after arriving to Germany, you will first begin your training with the IFX players to be evaluated and for us to get a sense of your playing ability. Immediately thereafter, we start with your club trials, which typically last 2-4 weeks. Players trial with various IFX partner clubs throughout the region of your University program, located in communities which are reachable with public transportation but may not necessarily be located in the same town or city as your University.

Local Support and Representation

There is a program manager who is the person designated locally to manage the program and help participants get oriented initially and to support the participants throughout the pre-season and season. The Program Manager is responsible for managing participants’ trials and placements with clubs and to assist where needed if any issues may arise that may demand the support of a native speaker of the language.

As soon as one of our partner clubs offers the IFX participant the opportunity to compete with their club for the season, we begin the process of applying for the participants’ International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and subsequently their player license. Although the process can be extremely bureaucratic as it entails sending several documents through many different hands, thanks to our experience players just need to sign and play.
