As part of the summer transfer window in Germany, we are pleased to announce that Colombian Goalkeeper Samuel Alzate (18), in his second consecutive year with IFX in Germany, was signed by Landesliga Nordost club FSV Erlangen-Bruck. Samuel had the opportunity to get scouted in one of the IFX goalkeeper trainings in Erlangen under the watchful eye of the FSV Erlangen-Bruck goalkeeper coach Dirk Schrott. After an intense GK training session and strong performance by Alzate, the coaches of the U23 Team, Fabian Müller and Dieter Bütner, who were present on the field, offered Alzate the opportunity to sign for Erlangen.

Puerto Rican Defender right-back, Rodrigo Lloveras (21) had to travel continuously to/from Germany in response to tryouts for the Puerto Rican U23 National Team. After continuous cuts, a list of 25 came players remained for selection on the U23 National Team.
Adam is not unfamiliar with IFX, taking part in our Soccer Trials Program last year and decided to comeback for the Pro Year Germany program. During the June/July German soccer pre-season, Adam trailed with a handful of different teams attending their practices and in the end had three teams interesting in signing him.

With Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs shaping 2019 rosters, pleasant news came in from Matthews, North Carolina. The former IFX Germany Program participant, Brendan McDonough (22) who at the time was playing with IFX partner club Freie Turnerschaft Braunschweig as part of his participation in the Youth IFX Year Germany program, was selected by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC with the 35th overall selection of the 2019 Major League Soccer SuperDraft a few weeks ago.
As part of the 2018-19 preseason in Germany, two top clubs in Franconia, Germany faced each other in MARena stadium (Pyrbaum) in a highly entertaining game.
