In the heart of Alexandria, Egypt, a young boy named Hamzah Hamed began chasing a football at just three years old. Inspired by his father, a former player himself, and surrounded by a family of passionate fans, Hamzah’s love for the game was immediate and intense. That passion led him to Smouha Club, one of Egypt’s top-tier teams, where he climbed the youth ranks and eventually played for their U16 squad in the country’s highest youth division, facing elite teams like Al Ahly and Zamalek. His goal was always clear: to one day compete in a system like the German Soccer Competitive Youth Scene, known for its intensity and structure.

Hamzah’s playing style reflects his versatility and maturity. As a central and attacking midfielder, he combines speed, composure, and tactical awareness. His years as a fullback sharpened his defensive instincts, making him a well-rounded player capable of contributing on both ends of the pitch.

Despite his success in Egypt, Hamzah sought a new challenge, one that could bring him closer to his dream of playing professionally. "I was already playing at the biggest level in Egypt and wanted a new challenge that would really make me close to going pro," he explains. That ambition led him to Germany, a country renowned for its structured youth development and competitive football culture.

While researching programs that could offer both academic and athletic growth, Hamzah discovered IFX Soccer and Soccer City internat. The program’s balance of football training and education made it the ideal fit. Through IFX, Hamzah was placed with FC Union Mühlhausen U19, a partner club of Soccer City, where he began his journey in the German Soccer Competitive Youth Scene.

IFX Soccer has played a key role in supporting Hamzah’s transition. "They always contact us to make sure we’re okay and help us plan everything out," he says. The cultural shift hasn’t been easy, adjusting to early closing hours and different food habits was challenging, but Hamzah has embraced the experience. Now, he’s looking ahead. "I’m studying moving clubs for a new challenge and want to play at a higher level. Long-term, I’m aiming for trials with Bundesliga teams to prove myself and maybe reach the first team."

His advice to other young players considering youth soccer programs abroad is grounded in experience: "Football is competitive, and moving away from your people and family is hard. But if you don’t use that as motivation to push forward every day, you won’t make it. Always remember why you took the risk, and fight for it."
