Zaragoza, Spain. We are excited to announce that Jacob Richard (16) a native of Pune, India and participant of the Youth IFX Year Spain has been placed with C.D. Fleta (Spanish soccer club from the 2nd Regional League of Federación Aragonesa de Fútbol) to play this 2017-18 season. Jacob, who played for Kalyani Bharat FC the past two seasons (a top division club in the Indian city) decided to enroll in one of the best football academies in Spain with IFX to advance his soccer and to challenge himself through total immersion in the demanding Spanish game, experiencing first hand the highly competitive and sophistication of Spanish football.

"Since arriving at Spain, I have never felt unsafe or that I'm in the wrong place. I'm very glad I took this decision and it has already become one of the best experiences of my life, football wise and socially" (Jacob Richard).

Jacob has been a soccer lover since he was 11 which influenced his decision to come to Spain.  C.D. Fleta has been a  perfect fit for him because it is a very competitive team and at the same time has been very accommodating and welcoming of Jacob. "I feel good at the club and everyone was very welcoming to me. Feeling as an outsider was at it's bare minimum".

Jacob really likes how football in Spain focuses on technique and

improving the fundamentals. Being a midfielder, according to Jacob, Spain is the best place to be because is the most challenging spot on the pitch. When Jacob was brought onto the pitch for his first game for the club, receiving all the encouragement from the coaches and players was a memory which will last a lifetime.

A typical day in Jacob´s life looks like: At 6:30am, he is out of bed and goes to school. School starts at 8:45am and goes on until 3pm. He arrives back home by 3:30pm and has lunch immediately. The rest of the day continues based on whether or not he has training. If not, he goes to the gym. After that he comes back to study or does whatever he has to. At 9 or 10pm he will have dinner and by 11:30 goes to bed. On the days he has training he prefers to sleep before training to feel fresh.

"IFX has provided me a platform to showcase what I have and also learn from a new style of football and a better quality. It's a huge step that I've taken and obviously IFX has been the reason this could be possible" (Jacob Richard).
