ROSENHEIM, GERMANY – Standout GK Jon Faerber and Defender Marvin Torvic sign 2 year deal with TSV 1860 Rosenheim

Australian Goalkeeper Jonathan Faerber, 26, and French Guianan international Marvin Torvic, 26, both signed 2 year deals this summer with TSV 1860 Rosenheim of the Bayernliga Süd German division. Rosenheim, who was narrowed out during the relegation playoff last season of the tough Bayern Regionalliga, looks to restrengthen their squad after several player transfers this summer.

Faerber, an imposing 6’4″ GK who tended goal last season for Bayernliga Nord club FSV Erlangen-Bruck, already has a year under his belt in the German 5th division. After helping Erlangen-Bruck to avoid relegation from the Bayernliga, IFX Soccer arranged a trial with Rosenheim who was in need of another keeper for the 2014-15 season. Faerber impressed Rosenheim right off the bat with his size, strength and quickness, leading to an immediate 2 year offer.

Marvin Torvic (USA/French Guiana), who transferred to Rosenheim from Finish 2nd division club PS Kemi Kings, looks to anchor the defense at Center Back. Torvic made 3 appearances this summer for his national team, French Guiana, in the Caribbean Cup Qualifiers, starting all 3 fixtures and playing the full 90. French Guiana came away with 3 consecutive victories against British Virgin Islands, Turks/Caicos and Aruba. Torvic is yet another American soccer player in Germany making a name for himself.
