CARPI, ITALY – YOUTH YEAR IFX ITALY

or two weeks, Ethan Kable (Vermont, USA) trialed with professional Italian club Carpi F.C.’s U19s to determine whether he would compete with the formidable Calcio squad for the 2013-14 season. Kable, an 11th grader participating in the Youth Year IFX Italy program, where he lives with an Italian host family and attends an Italian public high school, was invited back after a strong performance during his first week of training with Carpi’s U19s. After his second week, Carpi decided to pass on signing Kable, but will have him train with their U17s for the season, with the possibility of rostering him should his development progress.  Carpi FC was promoted this past season into the Serie B, the second highest league in Italy. The club also had great success with their youth teams, who reached the playoffs in their respective Serie A youth divisions, the highest youth level in Italy.

Kable will likely be shirting up in matches with another Italian club Virtus Cibeno, known in the Carpi region for their development and competitiveness in youth soccer.
