IFX’s Danish striker Louka Andreasen turns down 2. Bundesliga Greuther Fürth contract offer

Fürth – 19 year old Danish striker Louka Andreasen is a rising star in his home country, currently playing for the professional side Hvidovre IF in the Danish 3rd division. Andreasen, currently with 1 year left on his two year contract, has been with Hvidovre since 2013, after transferring from Brøndby IF. After spending the first half of the 2015-16 season playing for their U19s, Andreasen earned his way onto Hvidovre’s first team at just 18 years old, and had several starts during the Spring campaign.

In July, Andreasen returned to IFX’s Pro 30 Day Germany program, where players from around the world train and trial with German clubs in the greater Nürnberg region of Middle Franconia, Bavaria. Andreasen, who also came in 2015 to the Nürnberg football training program, was a standout talent, dominating many training sessions and showing his unique ability to take on defenders, hold the ball, extreme quickness and speed, and most importantly his consistent ability to score goals.

In his July 2016 Pro IFX 30 Day program, Andreasen spent his first week with Bayernliga side SpVgg Weiden, coached by former Czech national team star Tomáš Galásek (playing career with Ajax Amsterdam and 1. FC Nürnberg). After one training session in Weiden, there was no mistaking Andreasen’s talent, and Galásek was quick to recognize his level as that of at least Regionalliga or higher.

On Wednesday of the same week on Andreasen’s 19th birthday, he trained with ASV Neumarkt (current Bayernliga league leaders) while IFX was waiting for the green light for trials with either 1.FC Nürnberg or SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

The next day, Greuther Fürth confirmed that they would invite Andreasen on trial for Friday and the following week. Friday afternoon, Andreasen arrived at the SpVgg Greuther Fürth training facility in Ronhof, Fürth, to trial with the U23 Fürth Regionalliga side, comprised of some of the region’s top young football talents.

Co-Trainer Björn Schlicke (former pro with Hamburger SV, 1.FC Köln, MSV Duisburg, FSV Frankfurt) was impressed immediately with Andreasen’s unique ability and comfort in the new training environment. After Monday’s training session, after Andreasen had another clean and impressive training session, Schlicke communicated to Andreasen, that he is precisely what the club is looking for at the moment.

They have players who combine speed and goal scoring ability, one-v-one ability and speed, and one-v-one ability and goal scoring ability, but he saw that Andreasen can do all three. Thus they made an offer for Andreasen to consider coming to the 2.Bundesliga club for the 2016-17 season, with the possibility for him progress into the first team within a matter of months. The Fürth reserve squad this season is much smaller than in the past, so that they can push up and integrate second team players with the first team more often and in a matter of 2-6 months in some cases.

Louka Andreasen took this amazing pro club offer to heart and spent the following weeks carefully considering the opportunity. However, in the end, he decided to ride out his contract for the 2016-17 season with his home club Hvidovre.

It is likely that Andreasen is being courted by many top level professional Danish league clubs and it won’t be long until this young man makes his way into top flight professional football.
