Guten Tag! Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has confirmed (12.12.13) that the MLS All-Stars are set to face off against reigning UEFA Champions League cup holders and Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich on August 6th, 2014. The match will be televised in North America on ESPN2.

The match is scheduled to be played at Jeld-Wen Field, home of the Portland Timbers. Although MLS has yet to publicly comment on the upcoming All-Star event, FC Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed to German news outlet SportBild that their club will indeed travel to North America. It marks the first time a German club has accepted an invitation for the annual MLS event. The news comes in the midst of an increased North American presence as 21st Century Fox has recently acquired the rights to the Bundesliga for five years; beginning in 2015.

This past season the MLS All Stars (currently hold a 5-3-1 record against international competition) fell to Michael Bradley and his club AS Roma 3-1.
