Mikey Aceves hits the list of California youth soccer players in Germany

California youth soccer player, Mikey Aceves signs for SV Gutenstetten

This week it was officially announced that Miguel ‘Mikey’ Aceves (19) put pen to paper on the SV Gutenstetten offer to join its 1st team for the 2022-23 season. The native of Escondido, California had trials with a few different German clubs this summer but it was the match Gutenstetten played against the second team of Bundesliga club SpVgg Greuther Fürth where Mikey caught the attention of SVG recruiters and finally earned himself a spot in the first team.

“IFX arranged for me to be included in a Gutenstetten friendly match this summer, I was luckily able to experience playing almost a full 90 against a 4th division team Greuther Fürth. Their level was very high and impressive but I was able to hold my own and it definitely gave me more motivation and something to strive for” Mikey stated.

Taking the game to the next level

Aceves played club soccer in the US since the age of 10 and most recently played in the Coast Premier League. He decided to come to Germany with IFX Soccer because he wanted to take his game to the next level and undoubtedly, the best place to do that is in Europe. Mikey trialed for SV Gutenstetten and TV Erlangen, both excellent teams from the Bezirksliga and Kreisliga Mittelfranken, and he confessed he greatly surprised with the level of team mates even in mid and lower divisions.
