IFX’s Marvin Torvic leads French Guiana to Final’s of Caribbean Cup

Marvin Torvic and the French Guiana National Team head on to Caribbean Cup Finals for Gold Cup Qualification

Following completion of second round play of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Caribbean Cup finals, the 8 team finalists were confirmed including IFX’s Marvin Torvic and his French Guianan National squad.

Defending champion Cuba and host Jamaica will be joined by Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua & Barbuda, Haiti, French Guiana, Martinique and Curacao. Final round play will be held between November 10-17 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Teams will compete in two groups of 4 to vie for qualification into the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, with the fifth place side facing off against Honduras for the last spot in the Confederation’s top tournament.

IFX’s Marvin Torvic, who currently anchors TSV 1860 Rosenheim’s (Germany) defense in the Bayernliga Süd division of German football, made 3 appearances in the 2nd round of the Caribbean Cup qualifiers, helping French Guiana to pull through to the finals with a 2-2 draw against Haiti, a narrow 1-2 loss to St. Kitts & Nevis, and a 2-0 victory against Barbados.
