Sonntag, 10.03.13 15:00 Uhr – BZL Mittelfranken Nord 2012/13 23. Spieltag – SpVgg Erlangen vs. Baiersdorfer SV 2-1 (1:1)

BZL Mittelfranken Nord play resumed after the winter break as 2nd place Baiersdorfer SV visited 5th place SpVgg Erlangen. With a chance to go top of the table this match was full of emotion. Baiersdorf would not capitalize on this, as they would lose 2-1 on the afternoon, conceding on a 2nd half penalty kick. The spot kick from 11 meters had its fair share of controversy as the initial attempt found the bottom of the right post and was cleared by the defense. The referee would then allow for a second spot kick due to encroachment by a Baiersdorf player.

The visiting fans were very vocal in their discontent as this found the back of the net and their club was now down a goal on the road. Almost immediately after going down Baiersdorf thought they found the equalizer off a set piece as the ball found its way into the back of the next, but the indirect free kick was disallowed.

IFX Pro JP Pimienta was brought on in the second half to help press for the equalizer. Pimienta almost played the super-sub role as he brought some needed energy in the second half, incorporated in two goal-scoring opportunities that nearly resulted in the late equalizer. Baiersdorfer SV play host to 10thplace TSV Cadolzburg next Saturday with kickoff slated for 3:30PM.
