Cameroonian Center Back lands spot in ‘Färdd’

Nürnberg – 20 year old Dany Djoufack, from Cameroon, signed last month for German semi-professional club SG Quelle Fürth arranged by IFX. Djoufack, a 1.75 meter tall Center Back has been making great progress towards a professional career this past year. In an effort to improve and refine his playing style and goal of eventually joining his country’s national team and a professional club,  Djoufack decided to relocate to Doncaster, England where he played at an Academy, getting exposure to some professional English teams’ Academies including Balby Carr Sports Academy , Doncaster Rovers,  Barnsley FC, Chesterfield,  Sunderland AFC,  Newcastle United, Darsley Park , Leicester City,  Fullham,  and New Castle. Prior to moving to England, Dany was playing at the highest amateur level in Cameroon (Division 2) with Foudre Sportive d’Akonolinga based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Dany has been playing football since about the age of 6 when he first joined  a youth club in Cameroon called  A.S. Nancy Star. He steadily moved through the football pyramid in Cameroon all the way to Division 2 where he eventually joined  Foudre Sportive d’Akonolinga. Along the way, he won several regional championships between 2007 and 2014 with different clubs.

In May 2015, Dany was among those selected to participate in the training camp/ scrimmage for the Cameroonian U-23  National team with the goal of eventually participating the 2016 Olympics and 2015  U-23 African Cup of Nations Cup.

After arriving in Germany in July with IFX’s Pro IFX Year Germany program, Djoufack immediately made an impact while on trial with SG Quelle Fürth. Manager Thomas Färber commented that his physical strength, defensive ability, and positive energy that he brought to the squad as the main reasons Quelle wished to sign Dany for the 2015-16 season.

So far this season Djoufack has already earned himself a starting position at Center Back, making four appearances with 316 minutes played.
