SV Gutenstetten-Steinachgrund has had a rollercoaster start to the Landesliga Nordost season. Currently sitting in 12th place with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses, coach Thomas Guter and his squad are working to find consistency and climb the table.

The season opener was tough: a 3-1 defeat against current leaders FC Eintracht Münchberg. But the team bounced back with two straight wins: 2-0 over 1. SC Feucht and a hard-fought 2-1 away victory against SC 04 Schwabach. Just when momentum seemed to be building, two heavy setbacks followed: 0-4 at home to TSC Neuendettelsau and 4-1 away to SpVgg Jahn Forchheim.

Things turned around on Matchday 6, with a commanding 3-0 home win over FC Vorwärts Röslau, followed by a solid draw against SV Lauterhofen. Then came a thriller on Matchday 8: a 3-2 loss to SpVgg Mögeldorf 2000 in a game that nearly ended in a miracle comeback. Down 3-0 for most of the match, Kemenni struck twice in the 86th and 90th minutes, sparking hope that fell just short.

However, inconsistency struck again. Back at home, SVG suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to FSV Erlangen-Bruck, a result that left the team searching for answers. Most recently, they showed resilience by earning a last-minute 2-2 draw against SV Unterreichenbach, despite playing with ten men after Kahrimanovic was sent off in the 61st minute.

Pro IFX Players: Gaining Experience in the Landesliga

Two players from the Pro IFX Year Germany program are part of this journey:
Daniel Vanni (midfielder), now in his second season in Germany. After impressing last year in the Bezirksliga with Hüttenbach, he earned a move to a higher division with SVG.
Tyson Hagaman (defender), who is steadily earning more minutes and contributing to the team’s defensive stability.
Both players are developing their skills in a highly competitive environment, facing the challenges of the Landesliga week after week.

Youth on the Rise: U19 Ready for Kickoff

On the youth side, SVG Steinachgrund’s U19 squad is gearing up for the Bezirksoberliga season opener on September 12, away against FSV Stadeln in Fürth.

Among the players are Karl Holle and Abdulla Harbi, both part of the Pro IFX Year program. Karl first came to Germany in the summer of 2024 for a two-week camp that sparked his passion to continue his football development in the country, leading him to join Pro Year Germany in 2025. After several tryouts with regional teams, he caught the attention of Gutenstetten and eventually signed with them. For Abdulla, this marks his second season, continuing his role as an attacking option for the U19 side.

At IFX Soccer, we are proud of our players’ commitment and growth - not only competing in demanding leagues but also developing as athletes and individuals, learning the language, and embracing German culture.
