Landesliga Nordost – Matchday 34 | 2024/25 Season

TSV Weißenburg Landesliga Nordost

TSV Weißenburg closed out the 2024/25 Landesliga Nordost season with a narrow 2–1 defeat against TSV Buch in Nuremberg. Despite the loss, the team managed to secure an 11th-place finish, comfortably avoiding the relegation zone and ensuring another year in the competitive Landesliga.

The match began on a high note for Weißenburg, who took the lead in the 12th minute through a well-placed strike from captain Jonas Ochsenkiel. The visitors controlled much of the first half, showing composure and tactical discipline. However, the second half told a different story.

A lapse in concentration led to a foul inside the box, and the referee pointed to the spot. Patrick Fuchs converted the penalty in the 53rd minute to level the score for TSV Buch. The game grew increasingly physical, particularly in midfield, resulting in six yellow cards in the second half alone. Weißenburg’s situation worsened when Philipp Meier was sent off in the 78th minute after receiving a second yellow.

Down to ten men, Weißenburg struggled to reorganize, and in stoppage time (90’+1), Cameron Crooks capitalized on a defensive error to score the winner for TSV Buch.

Despite the disappointing result, Weißenburg can look back on a strong finish to the season, having gone unbeaten in their previous three matches—an effort that proved vital points in securing their league status. The season also saw some surprises, most notably Großschwarzenlohe’s dominant campaign, finishing with 80 points and an impressive 80:23 goal ratio, earning them direct promotion. And FSV Stadeln, battled to victory in the Relegation Playoff against Eintracht Münchberg and TuS Frammersbach to achieve promotion into the tough Bayernliga Nord Division.

TSV Weißenburg remains a respected presence in the Middle Franconia football scene and is a proud partner club of our agency. We are also pleased to announce that Matthew Timmerman, a Pro IFX player who previously featured for the U19 squads of ASV Neumarkt and Baiersdorfer SV, has been invited to join Weißenburg’s senior team for the upcoming season—marking his transition into men’s competition in Germany.

From all of us at IFX Soccer, we extend our best wishes to Matthew and the entire TSV Weißenburg squad for a well-earned break and a strong start to the new season.
