Climbing the German Soccer Ladder into Bayernliga – Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson is 20 years-old, plays central defensive midfield and had outstanding appearances with ASV Vach last season, making Johnson a targeted reinforcement for Gebenbach's Coach Markus Kipry for the coming season. Johnson is now back in Nürnberg and beginning his preseason at Gebenbach.

"After attending trials with 3 different teams, DJK Gebenbach offered me a spot on the roster. I am super happy and excited to sign with Gebenbach for this season. The trial was an eye opening experience for me as it showed the level at which I need to be at. The trainer Markus Kipry believes I have the potential to eventually gain minutes on the pitch. I am looking forward to proving myself and hopefully get on the score sheet this season" Eric stated.

DJK Gebenbach recently announced the addition of notable and experienced players like Marco Geier, Fabian Vogl and Matthias Götz to the roster who definitely bring a lot of quality to the team and experience to share with younger players like Eric in his path to ascend in German soccer.

Last weekend Eric's turn came to step onto the pitch during a pre-season friendly match, facing recently relegated 3. Bundesliga team Würzburger Kickers. The match was very intense and despite a final score in favor of Würzburg, Johnson and Gebenbach put up a fight and showed a level of commitment Coach Kipry expects from all the team for the coming season in Bayernliga 2022-23.
