FEUCHT, GERMANY – YOUTH YEAR IFX GERMANY

British Columbian, Grant Fadden, is a 5th generation dairy farmer hailing from near Abbottsford, BC, Canada. When he is not helping his father with the tough work around the farm, Fadden is usually found out on the soccer pitch with his home club Abbottsford Mariners. During Fadden’s participation in IFX’s Youth Summer IFX Germany program this August, one of IFX’s partner club’s, SC Feucht, took a liking to his cleanly play and effectiveness on the pitch. After several trainings with the U19 Landesliga side, SC Feucht came forth expressing interest in keeping Fadden in Germany for the 2012-13 season. The promotion hungry Feucht already have a solid squad and are by many favored to win the tough Frankisch division, but were eager to have Fadden after his consistent hard work and strong performances during the IFX summer program.

After returning back to Feucht 3 weeks later, Fadden has quickly integrated into the team and German life. School has begun for the young Canadian which is important for his assimilation into the German culture and accelerate his learning of the German language.

Back home in Canada, Fadden had been a standout player, playing for the regionally renowned Abbottsford Mariners, and even earning two appearances for their semi-professional PDL side. “Fadden will have a tough challenge ahead of him this year in Germany but has the tools necessary to succeed, both on and off the field,” says Head Trainer Norbert Satzinger.

Satzinger looks forward to a successful season at the reigns of the SC Feucht U19s. After two matches, Feucht leads the table and continues their quest to capture the title and move into Germany’s second highest youth division.
